Position Overview Are you an experienced credit and asset resolution leader with deep expertise in SBA 7(a) servicing and default management? We are seeking a Special Assets & Portfolio Supervisor to oversee portfolio management and loan liquidation across the lifecycle of fully disbursed SBA 7(a) loans. In this pivotal leadership role, you will direct a team of Special Asset Officers and Portfolio Officers, implement targeted workout strategies, evaluate collateral positions, and oversee complex default, litigation, and liquidation proceedings.

Principal Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Strategy: Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of Special Asset Officers and Portfolio Officers; formulate and implement proactive workout and recovery action plans.
- Workout & Restructuring: Evaluate bank collateral positions, assess business survivability, and structure alternative workout solutions to return distressed accounts to performing/pass status whenever feasible.
- Negotiations & Borrower Relations: Facilitate negotiations and high-level meetings with borrowers, guarantors, business bankers, and legal counsel regarding payment plans, forbearance agreements, and workout solutions.
- Litigation & Collateral Recovery: Direct legal proceedings, including bankruptcy filings, foreclosures, judgment enforcement, and repossession/replevin actions; manage relationships and casework with outside counsel.
- SBA Liquidation & Compliance: Oversee the liquidation plan lifecycle to ensure strict compliance with SBA SOP 50 57 Servicing and Liquidation; actively monitor the 2-year liquidation rule and submit extension requests or proof of claim documentation as required.
- Agency Relations: Maintain an effective, positive working relationship with the SBA National Guaranty Purchase Center (NGPC) to ensure protection of SBA loan guarantees.
- Bankruptcy Oversight: Monitor bankruptcy dockets via PACER, coordinate with bankruptcy trustees, draft and file proof of claims, and execute court-approved resolution strategies.
- Financial Modeling & Analysis: Conduct discounted cash flow (DCF) analyses, collateral evaluations, and cash flow spreading to formulate well-substantiated hold, workout, or sell recommendations for senior leadership.
- Covenant Tracking & Servicing: Oversee post-closing compliance, including borrower financial statements, tax verification, insurance certificates, and risk-rating reviews; record all borrower interactions and updates within the core loan system.
- Reporting & Executive Presentations: Build and maintain portfolio reporting, Excel pivot models, and PowerPoint decks for monthly portfolio reviews and Board presentations.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5–7+ years of experience in SBA 7(a) loan servicing, liquidation, and distressed asset resolution; Small Business Lending Company (SBLC) environment experience strongly preferred.
- Regulatory Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of SBA SOP 50 57 Servicing and Liquidation, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), UCC filings, and state/federal laws governing foreclosure and collections.
- Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SBA E-Tran/CAFS, FTA Systems, PACER, LexisNexis, Spark, and PCFS/Loan Manager platforms.
- Credit & Analytical Acumen: Strong proficiency in cash flow spreading, financial statement analysis, collateral valuations, and debt recovery calculations.
- Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional written, verbal, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills, with confidence presenting to executive management and board members.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel formulas, tables, and pivot charts; PowerPoint).
